It's quite true that it takes a lot for the first ice to get broken.
For me, I had known, experienced and learnt very little from this fact. It is a kind of feeling that there is an Iceberg in front of me when start writing of anything, precisely, when I hit the key strokes. Always the thought would be how to attack the idea, not knowing its volume, eventually ending up with a lot of doubts and apprehensions of the situation. To start something is this knowledge seriously required? Left alone, those apprehensions can engulf your thoughts thoroughly that it makes you all-of-a-sudden-alien! So, what next? You start waiting for someone else to break the Ice.
I am also in a similar condition. Till this point of time, I had a lot of apprehensions and questions about free writing. To write something without having anything in mind, but everything you want to write is ready waiting for you to write anything about nothing! (That was free writing, for me!!) Was that my stuff? What happens when there is a grammatical mistake? How much time should you spent/ waste? How much can I write? What is the breaking point for the reader? Should I start of with a statutory warning for boredom? What's my genre? Should you find answers for all these, or better, don't write at all!
It is very recent that I am getting addicted to the Google products. Of course, I was (and is) fascinated by the way Google does its 'Googling'. The time it takes for search is really amazing. Then they come up with this integrated environment, where you have a single login and access to all the Google services. So slowly started acquainted with Reader. Learnt much about the Adwords and Adsense. Now, Blogger.
Since the environment is familiar, its getting easy to navigate and set up a basic post. The 'Ice-breaking technology' in its true sense for me. So let me hope to continue this journey of words through key board "Square Strokes"!!!
